Umbrella Children’s Theatre is thrilled to present The Pirates of Nochanze Pollute the Perfect Paradise or Tree Lovers Attempt to Topple the Terrible Cannon, written by the students, with original music by Melange. Our student actors range in age from 5 to 17 years old.
The kind and quirky inhabitants of Enchanted Island must defend their turf from Priscilla the Evil and her nasty pirates when they make the island their cannonball shooting range, spewing pollution all over everything. It’s so bad, there’s only one tree left on the whole island. When the pirates come ashore, an island fairy with secret flower power must use all the magic she has to protect her paradise from attack. Can this cast of crazy, senseless characters learn to get along and keep the colorful island clean, peaceful, and green?
Umbrella Children's Theatre was founded in 1988 as "Southwest Children’s Theatre Productions" by Rebecca Morgan and Celeste Allerton. For 38 years, the company has equipped thousands of Northern New Mexico youth with skills that serve them as performing artists and human beings today, and prepare them for challenges faced tomorrow. With your ongoing support, we are proud to remain committed to offering our programming tuition-free.
