In the Garden: A Darwinian Love Story
a play by Sara Gmitter
Charles Darwin, newly returned from his momentous voyage on The Beagle, marries his clever, deeply devout cousin, Emma Wedgwood. The couple maintains a fragile equilibrium when it comes to their differences in faith until Charles' work on the book that will become the groundbreaking On the Origin of Species threatens their relationship and a family tragedy brings them to an anguished confrontation. Moments of heartbreak and comedy are enlivened by thought-provoking debates about philosophy and belief, our origins and future, the wonders of nature, and the power of family.
The cast includes: Leslie Dillon, Ambrose Ferber, Sara Gmitter, Althea Pak, and Santiago Sauter.
