Joe West’s tenth horror-comedy theatrical production takes on tales of art and madness. Performing across Northern NewMexico. Opening weekend in Santa Fe!!

Impresario Joe West invites audiences to experience noir terror and titillation during the four-week run of Theater of Death: Absinthe At Midnight. This selection of original one-act plays explores the thin line

between creativity and insanity. 

The  Absinthe at Midnight tour begins at Teatro Paraguas October 9th, 10th and 11th.

Performances are  Friday and Saturday at 7 pm, with matinees at 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday. 

Later in the month the show will travel to Las Vegas, Taos and Madrid, NM.

Tickets for all performances go on sale starting Sept 17th at www.theaterofdeath.org. These general admission tickets cost $25.

Because of the frequency with which Theater of Death performances sell out, it is recommended that patrons purchase tickets in advance. Due to suggestive themes and grisly effects, the show is not recommended for children under 12.

This years’Theater of Death: Absinthe At Midnight which features local songbird, Caiti Lord, tells tales of artists of different disciplines losing themselves in the creative process and descending down rabbit holes of

madness to bloody endings. The original comedic-horror plays deliver thoughtful philosophical commentary amid the gasps and giggles.

Theater of Death was founded in 2014 by triple-threat musician, writer and director Joe West. It proudly carries forth the tradition of Le Théâtre du Grand Guignol, which famously thrilled and shocked audiences in fin de siècle Paris. Alongside its neighbor the Moulin Rouge, the audacious Grand Guignol induced visceral reactions in its audiences. Joe West’s Theater of Death similarly provokes and charms with a mix of fearsome and funny entertainment.

Joe West is an award-winning songwriter, performer and director. In addition to his music performances and nine full-length albums, he propitiously founded the Theater of Death production company. Theater

of Death has been the driving creative force behind The Madrid Film Festival, The Psychedelic Folk and Bluegrass Festival, as well as artistic and theatrical events throughout the state of New Mexico.
