Umbrella Children’s Theatre is thrilled to present Fancy Clew & The Boarding House Mystery by Rebecca Morgan, with original music by Melange. Our student actors range in age from 5 to 17 years old.
Aging starlet twins, a hero stunt man, a countess, an Old Hollywood acting coach, and three Purehart Sisters see their Boarding House & Resort for Resting Actors turned upside down when a classic melodrama villainess and her sidekick show up to rent a room with a nefarious scheme up their sleeves…
It’s the Golden Age of the Silver Screen, and the Purehart Sisters have just scraped together enough money to finally own the boarding house all to themselves! But soon, the money goes missing, no one can find the starlet twins, and everyone is occupied with their acting lessons and waiting around for their next big picture. Can the Purehart Sisters solve the mystery… and live happily ever after?
UCT was founded in 1988 as Southwest Children’s Theatre Productions by Rebecca Morgan and Celeste Allerton. For 37 years, the company has equipped thousands of Northern New Mexico youth with skills that serve them as performing artists and human beings today, and prepare them for challenges faced tomorrow. Fancy Clew & The Boarding House Mystery opens on Friday, November 14th at 7 p.m., and plays on Saturday, November 15th at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday, November 16th at 2 p.m., Friday, November 21st at 7 p.m., Saturday, November 22nd at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday, November 23rd at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $5 for kids. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
