🌈 ABOUT THE PLAY

Deporting the Divas is a sharp, subversive comedy that blends satire, fantasy, and queer identity into a theatrical experience that is as entertaining as it is provocative.

At its center is Michael, a Border Patrol agent living a tightly controlled, closeted life. When he begins an unexpected and deeply human relationship with an undocumented Mexican man, the boundaries he’s built around himself, masculinity, authority, legality, begin to crack.

But Michael’s story doesn’t unfold in realism alone.

From within his imagination emerges a dazzling chorus of Divas, glamorous, irreverent, and impossible to ignore. These figures are not just comic relief; they are manifestations of desire, denial, fear, and freedom. They challenge him, seduce him, mock him, and ultimately push him toward a confrontation with his own truth.
