Federico Garcia Lorca's second play is based on the true story of Mariana Pineda, a young widow who sewed a flag in Granada for the conspirators plotting against the tyrannical rule of King Ferdinand VII.  The flag was discovered, the conspirators fled to England,  and Mariana was executed.  A romantic and hard-hitting play with poetry and song.
